Security settings example - using Insecure interfaces

Example:
We want to secure Proxy+ using Insecure interfaces. PC with Proxy+ is connected to the Internet through netcard with IP address 194.213.233.7.

Description:
In most cases Proxy+ should find interfaces connected to the Internet automatically. So you need not to configure Insucere interfaces manually. You can check whether the list of Insecure interfaces was properly composed in the ProxyLog.TXT file.
Autodetection on leased line installations works only for these systems: Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 with SP4 (or newer) or Windows 2000. Windows 95 lacks this functionality and it's necessary to create the list of insecure interfaces manually.

Settings:
1) Go to the "Security\General" WWW admin page and enable following options.

secinterf.gif (50475 bytes)

2) Go to the  "Security\Insecure interfaces" WWW admin page and:

- configure Insecure interfaces to use User definition of Insecure list.
- manage the Insecure interfaces list to contain desired interface(s).

The result should like this:

secinsecure2.jpg (43216 bytes)

3) Restart the Proxy+ using Administrator/Restart WWW Admin page.
